Service & repair customers going digital

Rise in proportion booking car service and repair online

A recent survey of 2,000 motorists by GForces shows aftersales customers are continuing to go digital.

Now, under a third of motorists under 24 will book a service or repair without checking a garages website first, though 57% of those aged over 55 will.

Of those questioned, 62% said they preferred to book a service or MOT online without actually speaking by telephone first. For women the percentage is 64% compared to 58% for male motorists.

Of those that prefer to book a service or MOT online, 60% prefer to do it using a desktop PC while 21% said they would prefer to use a smartphone and 19% a tablet. Mobile devices are growing fastest with younger motorists. Of those who prefer to book a service or MOT online, over 51% of those under 25 and 49% of those aged 25 to 34 now prefer to use a mobile device compared.

22% of respondents said the absence of an online booking facility on the website would make them much less likely to use a garage for vehicle servicing or MOT.

Offcourse it all has to work and be user friendly, to that end we would appreciate  any comments  about our own website and booking in service.
